How to plan a useful property video pilot

Property marketing

Choose a clear starting point

Pick one property with an agreed set of photographs and accurate listing information. Confirm that the agency has permission to use the images for the intended purpose.

Define the output

Decide where the film will appear before choosing its shape and length. Agree whether the work includes captions, branding, music and supporting social copy. Keep the pilot small enough to review carefully.

Name the format accurately

A film assembled or generated from photographs is a photo-based property film. It is different from a real filmed walkthrough. Generated movement must not imply that the camera travelled through the building or reveal features that were not photographed.

Review the details

Compare the finished film with the original photographs and approved listing. Check windows, doors, room proportions, text and any apparent changes to fixtures. Reject a sequence if it creates a misleading impression.

Decide what comes next

Agree what you want to learn from the pilot, review the output with the team and record the adjustments needed. A useful next step may be another small test, a clearer brief or a decision to keep the existing process.
